So one thing I have noticed when using a Macbook Pro or Air is that sometimes you need a little help. Especially when coming from another platform. So that what this article is meant to do and that is to assist you so that you will know exactly what to do when connecting to a wireless network.
Sometimes you will find that you cant see your WiFi and may think something is wrong. But you will soon realize that you may be doing something wrong and this article should help you in remedying that. I also show how to connect to hidden WiFi networks.
Why do this?
This is a great way to effectively connect to any WiFi network and remedy situations where you cant see or find your WiFi network. This will solve the problem and have you connecting to any network you may want to connect to including hidden networks.
How to do this on your Macbook Air or Pro?
You may have used the WiFi icon on the tool bar at the top of the screen and found you could not see other WiFi networks. You have two options:
1.Click the Apple logo at the top of the screen.
2.Go to system preferences.
3.Go next to Network.
4.Make sure WiFi is turned on and then click network Name drop down arrow to see all your networks. You can now choose one to connect to.
OR
1.From your Home screen go ahead and click the WiFi symbol upper right.
2.Notice preferred Network you might think all networks will appear here but this is not so and this has fooled many. This is only for your main network that your device is already connected to.
3.Click Other Networks.
4.Notice the full list of networks appear.
5.For a hidden Network go ahead and click other. You can enter the name password and security type from said screen.
One more thing
