This one is great for those who are new to the Mac platform and I will be using the M1 Macbook as a guide for this tutorial.

This should work on any Mac, especially the Macbook Air or Pro that’s running Big Sur.

How to Power Off Your Macbook Air or Pro?
In order to Power off your Macbook Air or Pro go ahead and
1.Click the Apple Logo Upper right.
2.Select the shutdown option.
3.Note Apps or windows that were open before will be opened again on reboot unless you uncheck the checkbox. Wait the time or hit shutdown.
Your device is off when there is no lights from the keyboard.
How to Power On Your Macbook Air or Pro?
1.To power on Your Macbook from a totally powered off state click the power button upper right of the keyboard. The same button with the fingerprint scanner.
2.When you reach the login screen you will have to enter your Password.
3.Once your desktop loads that’s it you are now good to go.
