So today article is intended to help those that may run into the same issue I did on How to Find Download and Install Acer Aspire 5 A515 Drivers. So if you have a Acer Aspire 5 like me you may find this information helpful especially if you cant find a particular driver.
Back Story
So I bought my Acer Aspire 5 A515 on a very good deal. I need a good computer to hold me over until my Desktop which had bitten the dust was rebuilt a new. Not wanting to rush I decided to get a Laptop to continue my workflow of creating videos for YouTube and content here on the blog.
I came across a few Laptops but the Acer Aspire 5 series won me over with great design and performance. The price was also great, the only thing was that the Laptop was in another European Language and there was no English in the options. I opted for Spanish language on install and used Google Translate to look at the text on-screen and translate, which worked great.
We download the English Language pack but the screen was only partially translated. We had to reformat with the US English version of Windows which was no issue and download the drivers which is where we ran into issues. My Laptop full model is the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-37v1 and we were able to find all the drivers automatically except WiFi drivers.We searched high and low but could not find anything for this model.
Who is this tutorial for?
This tutorial is for anyone who has the Acer Aspire 5 series Laptops especially the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-37v1 or any other modeled number which you may can’t seem to find their drivers especially the WiFi drivers.
How to Find Download and Install Acer Aspire 5 A515 Driver?
Option 1. Automatic Method
1.Rest your cursor in the bottom left corner of the screen and right-click and choose Device Manager.
2.Now look for anything with a yellow Triangle or mark beside to indicate the drivers are not installed.
3. Now right-click and search for the drivers Automatically and it should search and update drivers. You should find all but the WiFi drivers, use option 2 below to find that driver.
Option 2. Manual Drivers download
1.You can find the Acer Aspire 5 series drivers by clicking here. Simply click on the page where it says Driver there should be about 13 drivers present.
This driver is for the Aspire A515-51G but because the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-37v1 is from the same series with the same hardware such as WiFi card it will still work fine across all Laptops in the series with the same hardware.
2.Now special note for the WiFi you will find two (2) drivers that are identified as Wireless LAN. If you install one driver especially on the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-37v1 it will ask for a reboot with the WiFi icon showing up, but as soon as you reboot it will be gone and you will be unstable to connect to wireless networks.
To fix this issue we have found that you will need to first install one driver and when the device asks that you reboot don’t! and install the second driver without rebooting until both Wireless LAN or WiFi drivers are installed then reboot. If you don’t do it like this the driver will not install.
3.You can then download and install the others drivers as necessary.
Final Thoughts
So I hope if you have one of these Laptops especially like me with the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-37v1 were I can’t seem to find the exact matching driver you will try the above steps to do so. This method has also worked for me in the past where I can’t seem to find an exact matching driver I simply find another device in the series or with matching hardware and use that driver and it always works so you will want to bear that in mind.
