The Clean and Renew System
I am very impressed with the cleaning system on the Braun series 7 790cc which is actually one of the selling points over the earlier versions of this Electric shaver. It works by you simply placing your shaver in the included base and it cleans, charges and sterilize your shaver conveniently for you. In no time you will be ready for your next shave super easily which is enough for any one to run out and buy this thing right now.
Otherwise the only inherent drawback of this feature is that while it automatically cleans your shaver it does eventually need a refill of the clean and renew cartridges and the set that comes with the shaver out of the box is only enough for about a month of heavy use and cleaning and it will last longer if you use your shaver less through the month. The Packs themselves are actually affordable and should not be much of an issue to find and use.
On the other hand there are little things that you can do to actually reduce your dependence on the cleaning system and reduce the need to actually needing to get a refill as often. You can still manually clean or space the time between cleaning with the automatic system , this in turn is going to reduce the cost of maintenance and allow the cleaning system to last twice as long.
Setup and Usage
The setup process is pretty straightforward and all you will have to is get the base and power cable which you will attach to the unit and then to a wall outlet. Next you simply get your clean and renew liquid and remove the lid and slide system into the Braun series 7 790cc base which should be raised up for the insertion. When it’s into the base slide it down and the system is ready for use.
The Base will indicate the state of the cleaner that was just installed. There are three indicators that will indicate the level of cleaner that remains which is very convenient and that can be seen at a glance on the left. The upper light will tell you have 30 cleaning sessions left and the last one will tell that its time to replace the cleaning system with a new one.
How the Braun series 7 790cc works with its base and charge station is that when you are finished shaving you simply place the saver face down into the base being careful to align it correctly and you will know its done correctly when the shaver itself lights up and the buttons on the right. The various lights will indicate the level of clean that’s needed by the shaver which indicates a light cleaning all the way to heavy cleaning when it’s really dirty. The cleaning process will run for about 40 minutes or so. But if you cannot wait there is a quick clean button at the center of the base that will clean your shaver in 30 seconds or so.
You can also check the charge state of the Braun series 7 790cc easily as the unit does charge when connected to the base for cleaning. When the shaver is cleaned and charged it will enter standby mode and you have full control over when you want it to be cleaned.
Cleaning Manually
If you do not clean your shaver it can affect the functionality and effectiveness of shaving and can reduce the life of the shaver so you would do well to keep it clean and functional.The head mechanism has a quick release button which allows you to remove the head of the shaver and with the included cleaning brush you can easily remove any stumbles from previous shaving sessions. It’s then a simple matter of replacing the part that you just removed easily. Another method that you can use is to power on the shaver and run the head under warm water and place the shaving head under the water one side at a time and release the cap with the button and allow it to dry afterwards.
But remember that this thing is electronic so be careful when using the warm water method to clean,also place some machine oil on the top of the saver if you use the water method to clean often.
Design and Features
The head of the shaver is very flexible as it pivots on an axis and moves back and forth which is ideal for the shaver to move to the contours of your face no matter the shape, especially in hard to reach places such as the neck area and chin. Also if you do not like the moving head and you want to focus on a particular spot then there is a button that locks the head in place at an angle that you like which works well on certain area such as lips and neck.
There is also a pop up trimmer for side burns or moustaches if you do choose to use it. At the base as mentioned before you can see the display for the battery and hygiene level. On the side there is a plus and minus button that allow you to adjust the shaver between three settings. It’s recommended that you start at lower settings and work your way up until you find a level that works for you and your skin instead of putting it on high right away.
If you are new to this type of shaver and coming from another system you will also need to give your skin time to adjust as it will in some cases irritate your skin and as such its important to give your body time to adjust before it stops irritating your skin.

The Braun series 7- 790cc pulsonic shaver system gives a very smooth shave even on very low and fresh beard or facial hair growth even as low as after a days worth of growth you can easily remove those stubles with ease. It leaves your face super smooth even on areas such as the neck in all directions and with no irritation like with disposable razors. A note though is that if you have very thick hair you will need to press with some force to get the shaver to get at those stubs. Finally this thing is built to perform and last as it should last you for years with maintenance which tells you right away this is a great investment.
